Despite some slow kitchen delays, the extensive menu caters to all tastes, including large portions and tasty dishes. Decorated with a farm theme, the restaurant manages to provide a pleasant dining experience with excellent food and wine options. With consistently good food and service, Ricky's is highly recommended for a satisfying meal, especially for breakfast. Overall, Ricky's offers a great dining option with friendly staff and a diverse menu for all tastes.
This restaurant was a very pleasant experience. The staff and service was above what one would expect . The food was well prepared and the quality of the chef is above average. I will most definitely return and recommend this restaurant to all who ask my advise. Completely satisfied with this organization.
Ricky's (used to be ABC Restaurant) is next to the Best Western hotel, close to the Clearbrook exit to the freeway. We were a party of 9 and the restaurant was packed as usual (it was also the August long weekend). Phoned for a reservation and we had the back room all to ourselves.Friendly and efficient service - although our meals took a little longer to come out, it was worth the wait. Everything we ordered was hot and delicious. The kids loved their mac and cheese and chicken strips. Variety of schnitzels and all delicious. The turkey schnitzel is my favourite.
The restaurant is attached to the Best Western hotel but obviously attracts a much wider clientele. The place was packed, I stood by the entrance for several minutes waiting for a host and being ignored by staff passing by. When some one eventually spoke it turned out there was another entrance and that people coming in after me were already on the wait list. Having been seated eventually the menu was huge, mainly Homely type dishes. I chose the pot roast which was tasty and accompanied by nicely cooked vegetables. A safe if uninspiring choice for travellers.
Food was mediocre at best service worse. We ordered a burger lettuce wrapped and a tossed salad. Took over 40 mins to receive two burgers. There lettuce wrap consists of shredded lettuce with the burger inside. How are you supposed to eat that? Salad was weeds with some cranberry and seeds in it. Tastes like dirt. Server offered free dessert. Umm we don't eat that didn't you see what we ordered. Over priced and church **** on the table to boot. Never will we go back.
Attended May 23 at 1115am as which a hearty breakfast and lunch. We came in the side door and walked to the front counter. Told right away where would we like to sit, preferred a booth. Right by the windows and décor of antiques. The waitress, nicely dressed, smiled, Sheila-3 and gave us menu's. We got coffee right away and brought us glass of water which is very much liked instead of usually asking for it. Sheila came back in very good time and took our orders, poured us more coffee, wow! The main food I would say came in very excellent time, hot and looked great with the proportions. Asked it we wished anything further which is nice, got my Ketchup and mustard quickly. Nice décor of the area, good lighting and seating is not crowded. Tables are good seize and chairs comfortable. We got the receipt quickly and went to the front counter to pay. I wish they would bring machine to the table for the tip. Sheila deserves it as very pleasant. Ricky's prices have not changed. Beside a Western Hotel I think and good space for free parking. Right off the highway, Clearbrook Rd. Exit and can be seen okay. Will definitely be back! Happytravels.
