Coming out of the pandemic hasn't been easy for pubs in Central London. The staff in this establishment are working hard to make this a friendly and welcoming place and largely succeeding. We visited twice on the same working Wednesday in October; lunchtime and an amazingly packed early evening. They deserve their success. View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Hippo Inns:
.We were very lucky to be able to have our work Xmas party here before it became really dodgy to have whole teams of people gathering in confined spaces! That said, the team went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and able to enjoy our evening as safely as possible. However, as a vegetarian, the biggest happy surprise was the food. Over priced, barely edible fixed price menus are my Xmas nightmare. There was none of that here. For the very first time in my life no exaggeration I enjoyed every course of the vegetarian menu. The portion sizes were also really manageable so I was able to eat almost every mouthful without having to endure being uncomfortably full afterwards. Overall, great service, great food, good value for money.
Standard pub grub and atmosphere. Slightly slow service at times, but forgivable on a very busy Thursday night. You def need to book!
