What letterkennycaint dislikes about W Gees:
I have passed this place several times, thinking it was an off-licence, so when I noticed it's a bar, I popped in to suss it out. Although the address they give is Society St, their main door is on Shipquay St. The bar is at the back, and although it's comfortable, it is very old fashioned and run down. The customers are a bit old fashioned also, very set in their ways. But it is a friendly place, and they have a res... View all feedback.
This is a charming little restaurant with friendly staff and clientele. They feature fantastic live music from local talent on Saturday evenings. I will definitely be returning more frequently in the future.
A big thank you to the staff at this restaurant in Derry for brightening up our rainy afternoon. They were all very friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and even recommended some great places to visit and stay. And they were Liverpool FC fans too! The toasties and chips we had were delicious and we had no complaints except for having to leave. Thanks again and we hope to visit again soon!
This restaurant is a charming, family-owned establishment with old-school vibes. On certain nights, they play a variety of fantastic music, making for a great atmosphere. Plus, they serve delicious homemade food.
Thanks to all the staff that made our very wet evening in Derry much brighter.I could not ask for a more friendly staff, to know the area well and be happy to recommend places to visit and stay. And Liverpool Fc! : ) We had toast and fries and we can't complain, our only inconvenience was to leave!Thank you again and I hope to see you again soon.
We stopped for a drink after dinner at the Maldron. We were walking through the walled city and I saw this door without pretensions. We got into a quiet Monday night. Only a few people, but there was an old knight at the corner of the bar, and we had a lovely time of long conversation with him. He was in his last cup of the night, a cinnamon thingie. He told us they don't live in the old town of the city, but a cab took him home. If you're a tourist, this is the place you're looking for. Friendly, warm, they publish nice locals.
