Santarpio's is an East Boston staple that's been serving delicious pizza and barbecue skewers for decades. The unassuming interior isn't looking to impress anyone, but what the restaurant lacks in decor, it more than makes up for in food. I have been here twice. First time the pizza was not memorable and the lamb kabobs were very rubbery. Second time was recent. Pizza flavor was tasty (mush, onion, pepper, beef) but so soggy that it had no structure and all the cheese fell right off as the slice was limp.The waitress was very attentive to our table and patient on taking our order since half our party was late.Love the charcoal pit behind the bar.
